Asphalt & Laminate Shingle Roofs

Among the most popular roofing options in the country, especially for residences and other buildings with pitched roofs are asphalt and laminate shingles. Asphalt shingles also known as “three tab” are flat and consist of three rectangular “tabs” per shingle. They are reinforced with a fiberglass mat and typically carry up to a 25 year warranty.  Laminate also known as architectural or dimensional shingles consist of multiple layers of different shapes and sizes giving them a dimensional appearance. Laminate shingles have a variety of options and styles that add more color and depth to your roof system. They are also thicker and heavier than regular asphalt shingles, adding to their durability and lifespan.

Coatings

Roof coating systems are a proven solution for renewing and restoring a weathered roof. They can be applied to virtually any existing roofing surface—including TPO, PVC, EPDM, metal, BUR, SBS, APP, polyurethane foam and concrete—resulting in a seamless membrane that yields strong protection from severe elements, ponding water and ultraviolet light.  A coating restoration can save 25 to 40 percent compared to the cost of a complete roof replacement. By eliminating the expense and environmental impact of disposing large amounts of old roofing materials, coating are also an environmentally friendly option. Properly installed systems can carry up to a 50-year limited material warranty.

Modified Bitumen Roofs

Roofs made of APP (atactic polypropylene) or SBS (styrene butadiene styrene modified bitumen have been around since the early 1970s and make up a sizeable percentage of commercial roofing installations. Modified bitumen roofing is an updated version of a much older technology, the traditional built-up roof. Like built-up roofs, modified bitumen roofs are composed of layers of roof felt covered with asphalt, next they are topped with a ceramic granulated cap sheet instead of gravel or stone set in asphalt. A wide range of options allow the roof to be adapted to best suit the individual building.

It can be installed on virtually any flat or low-slope roof, with customization options for individual projects.
